Is my data used to train AI? No. Your messages are indexed on your Mac, and the snippets that travel to answer a question are never used for training — that's in our model provider agreement, not just this page. Delete Lore and the index goes with it.
Do I need a ChatGPT account or an API key? No. Lore ships with its own model access built in — download it, and it works. No accounts to connect, no keys to paste, and the AI is included in the price (which is currently zero).
Can it do things without asking me? It reads and notices on its own — that's the whole point. But anything that leaves your Mac in your name — a message, an email, a calendar invite — waits for your explicit yes, every time.
How is this different from Siri or ChatGPT? They wait to be asked. Lore reads what's already on your Mac — the thread where dinner moved, the promise you made on Tuesday — and speaks up on its own when something's about to slip. Asking questions is the smaller half of it.
What Mac do I need? A Mac on a recent macOS. The app is notarized by Apple and runs on both Apple silicon and Intel. No notch required — on older Macs, Lore tucks into the top edge of the screen instead.
What happens when the beta ends? You'll get a heads-up in the app, and it becomes $20 a month. There's no card on file during the beta, so nothing can quietly start charging you.
